An Assistant Clinical Professor, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, and Program Consultant, Dr. John C. Nance is widely respected throughout the counseling profession. He appeared in many professional settings as an expert in Trauma Informed approaches to education, counseling, and program development. He also leads in social justice reform researching the areas of punitive disparity, equity, and advocacy for marginalized individuals and groups.

Engaging and provocative, Dr. Nance is comfortable in front of people who seek to understand and work through challenges of life. He comes as a respected plenary speaker as well as a content expert.
Dr. Nance engages in volunteer work within the American Counseling Association organization. He focuses his energy on establishing processes and succession practices.
Individuals who have traumatic experiences in their history, benefit from trauma informed practices. John specializes in working with adult survivors of early childhood trauma and torture. He also works with a wide range of mood disorders and general wellness perspectives.
Dr. Nance is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is the Director of Clinical Field Placements. Incorporating social justice and advocacy is integral to his teaching and classroom management.
Group process is an area of strength for Dr. Nance. He works with organizations, executive committees, boards, and business groups in conflict and conflict resolution. He also works with organizations to create introspective processes and structures increasing self-evaluation and higher functioning.
